NuVision Technologies offers a range of holistic event connectivity solutions, from digital signage and kiosks to Wi-Fi hotspots inside expo halls. Their connected devices and services usage can fluctuate wildly - from consistent high-usage during events to being dormant for weeks at a time in between shows.
Additionally, devices aren't permanently deployed in a given location, with a typical deployment time lasting around 2-3 weeks before packing up and moving to a new location.
Keeping cellular devices always active and using data constantly isn't an option, and manually turning SIMs on and off individually - especially across multiple wireless carriers - is a big operational challenge for their team.
The Solution
As NuVision's business grew, the operational headaches of managing SIMs and carriers started to limit their ability to take on new business. They engaged with Zipit to have more control over their ability to turn SIMs on and off, and to leverage a single platform and provider to abstract some of the complexity of multi-carrier setups.

Zipit's single-pane-of-glass connectivity management platform normalizes the unique SIM management processes from each carrier's own platform (like Control Center & ThingSpace) into a standard workflow, making it easier for NuVision employees to simplify their operations between shows.
The Results
Now, when NuVision ships devices to an event, they can rapidly search for the right devices in Zipit's platform using a couple of digits from their device's barcode and easily activate IoT connectivity services on the carrier network that has the best coverage in that region, all in a matter of minutes.
At the end of a show, they can just as easily deactivate service so they aren't getting hit with data charges for connectivity that isn't being used between events.
This level of visibility into, and control over, SIMs and connectivity services has opened up new event hotspot use cases for NuVision to pursue without putting additional strain on their operations.
