Information we collect and how we use it
IT administrators and other representatives of the Corporate Facility may share your personally identifying information (such as personal email address or phone numbers) as part of the deployment of the Zipit Enterprise Critical Messaging Solution. If the Corporate Facility creates a user account to enable the network services required for the Zipit Now device issued to you, personal information such as a username and password may be included as part of the account being created.
In providing services to the Corporate Facility, Zipit may have access to and store personal information related to your account, including the sender, recipient and content of messages sent through the Zipit Now device. In addition, some of the features enabled on the Zipit Now device may require the use of third party services including SMS text messaging services and instant messaging services, which may store and/or have access to this personal information. Zipit’s obligation regarding use of this information is governed by the agreement between Zipit and the Corporate Provider and users of the Zipit Now device have no independent privacy rights. Some examples of how we use information transmitted through the Zipit Now device include the following:
- Log information – The Zipit Enterprise Critical Messaging Solution was designed to log all communication and activities of the Zipit Now devices. Zipit uses these log files to gather statistics about Zipit Now users’ connectivity habits, to assess overall activity, including how many messages are being sent and received through the system to and from the Zipit Now devices. These entries enable us to troubleshoot technical concerns, present logs for Corporate Facility administrators of the solution and habits of the Zipit Now users and control certain features of the solution as part of their deployment. We also use the log file entries for our internal purposes, so we can constantly improve the online services we provide.
User communications – Information obtained from Zipit Now users who receive or respond to pages, engage in Zipit Now to Zipit Now chats, or use any of the features of the Zipit Now device or Zipit RAP portal will be maintained by Zipit’s consumer services department, so that we may use it to assist these customers on current or future service issues.
